English Pronunciation in Use Intermediate

New 2017 cover for English Pronunciation in Use by Mark Hancock

In 2017 English Pronunciation in use got a new look. The new cover design comes along with a new approach to audio - instead of being on a set of four audio CDs and a CD-ROM, the audio is now a free online download. This makes the whole package much more affordable and is published alongside the 2012 second edition of this best-selling pronunciation title, already in full colour and with a new section on understanding fast, authentic speech.

English Pronunciation in Use Intermediate Second Edition is a comprehensive reference and practice book for learners of intermediate level and above. It is suitable for use by individual learners or in the classroom.

The book contains 60 easy-to-use two-page units covering all aspects of pronunciation, including sounds, stress and intonation. A new section 'Understanding Pronunciation in Use' focuses on the skill of understanding pronunciation in fast speech. The comprehensive reference section includes a glossary, exercises on using phonemic symbols and information on English as a lingua franca. The Audio CDs (or downloadable audio files) include models for repetition and slowed down extracts for listening. The CD-ROM provides additional exercises and a 'record yourself' feature.

Features:
  • 60 easy-to-use units: key pronunciation points are presented on left-hand pages with a range of exercises on facing right-hand pages.
