Linking consonant-vowel

Watch the video for a brief explanation of this pronunciation point. Download the jpeg image. Ask your students to work in pairs and read it aloud. Explain that it is written wrongly and ask them to work out what it should say. Then point out that it is written as it sounds, because the sound at the end of one word sounds like it at the beginning of the next. Here's the key: 'Doctor, doctor, I've got tooth ache, an ear ache, sore eyes, bruised arms, a stomach ache and I fart all the time!' 'I see. Perhaps you'd like to wait in the corridor?'.
