The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is an indispensable tool for the realisation for the Bologna Process in the European Higher Education Area. It offers guidance for teaching, learning and assessment of languages for communication purposes. The Europass, (a standard CV for use within and beyond Europe), and European Language Portfolio, are tools which students can use to record attainment levels and document their progress using level descriptors given in the CEFR.
How can these documents aid Spanish University language teachers who are looking to help their students be more mobile and independent for the 21st century?
